About Me
I am life-long bibliophile, who often judges books by their covers. My passion and expertise is in print design and I am well-versed with the publishing process for flexible and rigid packaging as well as books. I have experience working with printers both domestically and abroad.
My career path began in environmental consulting but later I decided to return to school to become a designer. Much to my delight, I landed my first job as a book designer with Rowman & Littlefield, an independent book publisher outside of Washington, D.C.
After working in-house for 5 years, I opted to freelance. At Rowman & Littlefield, I built a reputation around producing high quality designs, efficiently and on time, with minimal oversight. These qualities made me a successful freelance designer and kept me busy with a steady stream of projects for over 5 years. I have extensive experience designing book covers for trade, non-fiction, and academic titles across a broad spectrum of topics. I also expanded to designing book interiors and working on Children's Books.
More recently, I have been working as a graphics/print production manager and package designer at a food distribution company. I coordinate projects from initial mock ups to the final product as well as manage a large archive of mechanicals and supporting art files.
